I've just seen a link to Scribd, a publishing company that refers to itself as a "social publishing" company. Whatever that means - if it's not a cheap attempt to capitalise on the phenomenon of social networking - it's certainly yet another publishing option for indie games.
A quick search through the place shows results for Mouse Guard, Zombie Hero, Star Trek and others. Add it to your potential publishing list, along with Lulu, IPR, RPGNow and the Pirate Bay.
Although, maybe the last one isn't such a great idea.

People actually consider a torrent of their game on the Pirate Bay to be a legitimate means of publishing...the wonders never cease.
Well, as far as distributing things for free goes, it doesn't get much better than The Pirate Bay. You can attract a lot of attention to a completely unknown thing in the short time that it's in the new torrents section.
Scribd probably has more pirated ebooks than TPB, anyway.
That all sounds more indie than indie, and especially works for the "stick it to the man" developers, I guess. If your game is free and can't be modified, why not distribute it that way?
